Butt Augmentation | If you weren’t born with it, buy it.
What a time we live in. Just about anything can be yours if you want it. If you want it, in most cases you can buy it. We’re not just talking stuff – material wants. In truth, even the butt you want can be bought.
Throughout the centuries, women have altered their bodies in the name of beauty. From Japanese bound feet to extreme waist shaping through rib removal and corset training. Plastic surgery has answered the demand for beauty trends by offering all kinds of body reshaping for a price. Larger breasts through implanted silicone or saline bags, voluptuous lips with the injection of plumping products, a thinner waistline by liposuctioning fat are just a few of the procedures available for purchase. The bottom line, no pun intended, is that you can even buy the butt you want.
Brazilian Butt Lift, or butt augmentation, is a relatively new obsession with the earliest butt envy dating back to Jennifer Lopez in the late ’90s. Since then, butts never really have taken a back seat.
If you are looking to buy a new and improved butt you have options.
Buttock Injections:
At this time, there are no products on the market that can effectively augment the buttocks. Some practitioners offer Sculptra injections which are designed to increase collagen production, but in the end, it is fat and well developed gluteal muscles that provide a bodacious butt.
Buttock Implants:
Made of semi-solid soft silicone rubber, buttock implants are inserted under the gluteal muscles for butt augmentation. Although the implants themselves are safe, they can shift and move – and even flip. For this reason, buttock implants are a risky choice for butt augmentation.
Autologous Fat Transfer to the Buttocks:
Injecting your own body fat into the buttocks is the preferred method of butt augmentation by Dr. Gilbert Lee of Changes Plastic Surgery. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reflects that preference in their 2016 published statistics. In 2016, 18,489 butt augmentations were performed through autologous fat transfer while only 2,999 were performed using implants for a butt boost.
If you’re ready to put a Brazilian Butt Lift on your shopping list, know this before you buy.
- Be selective. Choose a board-certified surgeon with extensive experience in liposuction and fat transfer. Both procedures require skill in order to produce smooth contours. Do not leave this important detail to an amateur. Ask how many procedures the surgeon has performed and ask to see before and after photos.
- Be safe. Buying a butt augmentation is not going to be inexpensive and price shopping for the lowest deal could mean compromised safety, health issues, uneven results and the possibility of having to undergo revisionary surgeries.
- Be savvy. If you are a thin individual with very little body fat, you may not be a candidate for fat transfer to the buttocks. The amount of fat needed depends on the shape and needs of each individual patient, however, in general at least 500cc per buttock needs to be placed to see a significant difference. On average, patients typically receive around 800cc per buttock side for a total of 1600cc of fat transfer. If a patient has a BMI of less than 22 they typically will not have enough fat for the Brazilian butt lift.
So how much is your Brazilian Buttock Lift going to cost you at the check-out stand? Liposuction is the biggest cost variable. Fees are usually determined by the time the surgeon will spend in the operating room. Therefore, extensive areas of liposuction may add to the cost. Nationally, the fees range from $5500 to $10,000+ which includes the fat transfer to the buttocks.
