Abdominoplasty
It’s not easy to make the decision about surgically enhancing one’s appearance. Because of this, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gilbert Lee makes sure to offer up the very best professional advice by thoroughly and genuinely listening to the goals of the patient. For the abdominoplasty, the purpose is to extract excess fat and skin tissue from the abdominal region while tightening loose skin and muscle as needed. A patient may initially schedule a visit for liposuction, but in many cases liposuction would only leave the tummy with more loose skin.
Because of the scope of this procedure, Dr. Lee only corrects the regions of the abdomen that demand it while leaving the non-problematic areas alone. The lesser of the two abdominoplasty options, the mini version, is designed for this. It allows for faster recovery time and requires a smaller incision. The results are usually limited to the lower abdomen, and the procedure features less alteration of the underlying muscles.
A little known procedure to correct loose skin is the Reverse Abdominoplasty. This is usually indicated in patients with excess skin above the belly button. Learn more…
